Stepping Up Support for K-Food’s Expansion into the Middle East
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) are actively supporting K-Food’s expansion into the Middle East.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), in collaboration with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), specifically discussed recognition requirements, evaluation procedures, on-site inspection methods, and post-certification management systems for the accreditation of Halal certification bodies. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to lower regulatory barriers for Korean food products entering the Middle Eastern market.
